Professional Town Planner

Our client, a professional land surveying firm based in Paarl, is seeking to appoint a suitable candidate for the above-mentioned position. The ideal candidate will have excellent strategic thinking, project management and problem-solving skills, with strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities. The Ideal candidate must also be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Prepare, review, and manage town planning applications, including rezoning, subdivision, consent use, and land development proposals *Conduct planning research, site assessments, due diligence and feasibility studies *Liaise with government authorities, developers, consultants, and community stakeholders *Prepare planning reports, motivations, and presentations *Interpret and apply relevant planning legislation, regulations, and policies *Provide strategic planning advice on development projects *Attend public meetings, hearings, and stakeholder consultations *Monitor project timelines and ensure compliance with statutory requirements *All other tasks related to this role.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Town and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field;
• Registration as a Professional Planner with the relevant professional body;
• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in town planning, land use management, or urban development;
• Strong knowledge of planning legislation, development processes, and municipal planning frameworks;
• Excellent report-writing, analytical, and communication skills;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, GIS and CAD software will be advantageous;
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel when required.
