Background

The Council of Law Reporting is a statutory body established under the Council of Law Reporting Act, Chapter 46 of the Laws of Zambia, mandated to prepare, publish and disseminate law reports and other legal publications, thereby promoting access to legal information and supporting the development of jurisprudence in Zambia. In pursuit of its strategic objectives and commitment to institutional excellence, the Council of Law Reporting invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced and innovative candidates for the following positions:Recruitment agency directory

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to report to the Council Secretary and will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage effectively the identification, editing, and production of Law Reports in order to facilitate future reference;
  • Manage periodically the publication of Law Reports in order to facilitate access;
  • Manage timely the development of work plans and the implementation of the performance management system in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance;
  • Manage effectively human, financial and other resources in order to facilitate attainment of set objectives.

Qualifications

  • Full Form V/Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Bachelor of Laws degree
  • Diploma in Legislative Drafting
  • Advocate of the High Court of Zambia
  • Minimum of 8 years at the bar with 2 years’ experience at management level
