Working in close partnership with government, academic institutions and development partners, Eyu-Ethiopia designs and implements scalable solutions that strengthen health systems and improve equitable access to care.
Position Summary
Eyu-Ethiopia is seeking an experienced and dynamic Trachoma Control Program Manager to provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for its trachoma control and elimination program. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating program activities while ensuring compliance with donor and organizational requirements. The Program Manager will work closely with government counterparts, donors, and implementing partners to strengthen Ethiopia's efforts toward the elimination of trachoma as a public health problem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of trachoma control program activities.
- Provide technical oversight for the implementation of the SAFE Strategy (Surgery, Antibiotics, Facial Cleanliness, and Environmental Improvement).
- Develop annual work plans, budgets, implementation schedules, and procurement plans.
- Coordinate program implementation with the Federal Ministry of Health, Regional Health Bureaus, implementing partners, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor program performance against targets and ensure timely achievement of project objectives.
- Prepare high-quality technical, financial, and donor reports.
- Ensure effective budget utilization and compliance with donor regulations and organizational policies.
- Conduct supportive supervision, mentoring, and capacity-building for project staff and partners.
- Represent Eyu-Ethiopia in national technical working groups, coordination meetings, and partner forums.
- Promote operational research, learning, and the use of data for program improvement.
- Support resource mobilization and proposal development for eye health and NTD programs.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director.
