Overall Responsibility

Infrastructure and Hardware Support

Install, configure, maintain and repair IT hardware and infrastructure, including desktops, laptops, printers, servers, network equipment and UPS, at assigned provincial warehouses/hubs and health facilities.

Ensure the availability and optimal performance of the equipment used to run the eLMIS and supply chain systems.

Coordinate hardware repairs and replacements, including sending faulty equipment for repair and returning it to facilities to reduce system downtime.

Network and Internet Connectivity

Install, configure and maintain LAN and internet connectivity to keep the eLMIS operational at assigned sites.

Monitor internet and network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues and liaise with internet service providers (ISPs) for timely resolution.

Escalate persistent connectivity and infrastructure problems to the Systems Support Manager.

eLMIS Site Support and User Assistance

Provide first-line technical support to eLMIS users at provincial and facility level, resolving hardware, connectivity and access issues.

Support eLMIS software installation, updates and configuration in coordination with the software team.

Provide remote support using tools such as TeamViewer and AnyDesk, and on-site support where required.

Conduct basic user orientation and support to ensure effective use of the eLMIS.

Systems Administration and Security

Perform system administration tasks, including user account and access management, in line with approved IT security policies, standards and guidelines.

Apply security measures, antivirus updates and patches to protect infrastructure and eLMIS data.

Perform regular data backups and support disaster-recovery procedures at assigned sites.

Monitoring, Reporting and Documentation

Monitor and report on infrastructure, connectivity and eLMIS availability at assigned sites according to SLA.

Maintain accurate records of equipment, incidents and resolutions, and keep documentation up to date.

Prepare and submit regular status and incident reports to the Systems Support Manager.

Carry out additional responsibilities as may be assigned by the Systems Support Manager.

IT Asset Management

Track and ensure IT assets register for the site is up to date with location, custodian, and device details such as serial number and asset tag.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience

A diploma or bachelor’s degree from an accredited tertiary institution in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking or a related technology field.

Three (3) years’ experience in IT systems administration, infrastructure and end-user support, including hardware maintenance, networking and internet connectivity troubleshooting.

High proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and other software tools.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited tertiary institution in a technology-related field.

Additional networking or infrastructure certifications such as CISCO/CCNA or ITIL.

Five (5) years’ experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration, including support of health information or supply chain systems such as eLMIS and experience working across multiple or remote sites.
