Starke Ayres: General Worker (Maintenance)

Starke Ayres is the foremost African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower and lawn seed varieties – both for commercial and home garden planting. The following position has become available for a General Worker in our Maintenance Department, based in Kempton Park.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 
  
• Assist with general garden maintenance including watering, weeding, pruning, and planting across the company premises
  
• Maintain neat, clean, and well-presented outdoor areas, pathways, and entrances at all times
  
• Support the maintenance team with seasonal garden preparation and landscaping tasks
  
• Remove refuse and garden waste and ensure all areas are kept free of litter and debris
  
• Basic care and upkeep of lawn areas including mowing and edging
  
• Assist with potting, transplanting, and general plant care as directed
  
• Report damaged plants, irrigation faults, or maintenance concerns to the supervisor timeously
  
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  
• Previous gardening or grounds maintenance experience preferred but not essential — willingness to learn is valued
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• 
  
• Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
  
• Gardening experience (preferential)
  
• Knowledge on gardening equipment (advantage)
  
• English Literate
