Shop Assistant

The role

Assisting the Shop Attendant with the day-to-day operations of the shop, supporting stock management, maintaining store presentation, and delivering excellent customer service while helping grow the customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with stock and sales records as directed by the Shop Attendant.
• Provide accurate product information and guide customers in making purchasing decisions.
• Engage customers, promote products, and actively recruit new customers to increase sales.
• Support daily sales activities and customer service.
• Assist with FIFO/FEFO practices and report damaged or expired stock.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and attractive product displays.
• Support receiving, shelving, replenishing, and counting stock.
• Assist the Shop Attendant with daily store operations.

Key Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Certificate in sales and marketing or any related field is an added advantage.
• Excellent customer relations
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills
• At least 2 years’ work experience as a Shop Attendant or related field
• Computer literate
• Able to speak Swahili for the Kasumbalesa is a preferred
