Our client is seeking an experienced Senior C++ Developer to join a highly skilled team building advanced real-time video streaming and collaboration software used by leading creative and production teams worldwide. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for a developer who enjoys working on technically challenging products, taking ownership of solutions, and contributing to software used in demanding, high-performance environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain desktop applications built on a C++ and Qt technology stack
Contribute to real-time video capture, streaming, and playback functionality
Develop and optimise features for macOS-based environments
Build, package, sign, notarise, and deploy native macOS applications
Collaborate with team members to enhance platform performance, scalability, and reliability
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges relating to media processing and streaming
Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
Maintain high standards of code quality, testing, and documentation
Requirements
Extensive commercial experience with C++ development
Strong hands-on experience with the Qt framework
Experience working with WebRTC and GStreamer
Knowledge of video codecs including H.264 and H.265 (HEVC)
Proven experience building and distributing macOS applications
Experience with code signing, notarisation, and update management tools
Ability to work independently within a remote environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advantageous
Experience with Xcode and Apple development ecosystems
Swift development experience
Exposure to iOS or tvOS development
Knowledge of JavaScript or React
Experience with Windows desktop development
Broader media processing and audio/video streaming experience
