The Italian School of Lusaka is a well-established international school offering the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) curriculum from Nursery to A Level. Responsibilities or duties

This teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and syllabus-aligned lessons across two humanities subjects at the secondary level .

  • Teach Combined Subjects: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons for both English and History to secondary students .
  • Develop Critical Skills: Guide students in analysing historical events, interpreting texts, and developing strong written and verbal communication skills .
  • Structured Instruction: Use differentiated learning strategies to cater to mixed-ability students .
  • Maintain High Standards: Establish and enforce positive classroom management and high behavioural expectations .
  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess students' learning, provide constructive feedback, and track progress .
  • Contribute to Planning: Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and faculty planning initiatives .
  • Communicate with Parents: Maintain regular and timely communication with families regarding student progress and classroom activities .

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in the relevant subject
  • Relevant teaching qualification
  • ZAQA evaluation
  • Valid TCZ Practising Licence
  • Excellent classroom practice.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Effective use of educational technology.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and extracurricular activities.

Experience needed

  • Minimum five years’ teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of Cambridge curriculum preferred.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
