About Us
We are an established waterproofing sub-contractor operating within the construction industry, delivering waterproofing, roofing, concrete repair, joint sealing, protective coatings, and related specialist services to commercial & industrial projects. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing estimates and tenders, managing project costs, tracking variations, preparing payment claims to Main Contractors, and ensuring projects remain financially viable from tender stage through to final account.
The ideal candidate will have experience within the construction industry and a strong understanding of subcontractor environments, where accurate costing, variation management, and client liaison are critical to project success.
Key Responsibilities
Tendering & Estimating
- Review drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
- Measure quantities and prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Compile and submit competitive tender submissions.
Project Cost Management
- Monitor project budgets, labour costs, material usage, and subcontractor costs.
- Track project profitability and provide regular cost reports to management..
Contract Administration
- Review subcontract agreements and project documentation.
- Prepare monthly progress claims and payment applications.
- Manage and track variations, extensions of time, and claims.
- Prepare final accounts and ensure timely project close-out.
Procurement & Commercial Support
- Assist with procurement planning and material purchasing.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and service providers.
- Maintain up-to-date material cost spreadsheets
Client & Site Liaison
- Liaise with clients, main contractors, project managers, and site personnel.
- Attend site meetings when required.
- Conduct site measurements and assessments
