A leading player in the heavy commercial vehicle industry is looking for a hands-on, technically strong Quality Controller to join their Workshop team. If you’re a natural leader with a passion for productivity, quality workmanship, and maintaining high service standards — this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of workshop technicians.

  • Monitor technician hours and ensure efficient, productive output.

  • Drive productivity to achieve sold hours targets.

  • Reduce rectifications/reworks through continuous quality improvement.

  • Conduct ad-hoc inspections and consolidate quality reports.

  • Manage and action reports from the Department of Transport.

  • Oversee planning, workshop loading, and workflow.

  • Supervise and coordinate staff training and technical development.

  • Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental standards.

  • Ensure teams understand and follow SCP processes.

  • Drive WIP daily and streamline throughput processes.

  • Manage accident scenes and compile accurate reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric.

  • Trade-tested Auto Electrician or Diesel Mechanic.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the heavy commercial vehicle industry.

  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop environment.

  • Strong technical background with solid fault-finding ability.

  • Computer literate.
