QA/ Software Tester

Location: Osapa- London, Lekki, Lagos

A communications Technology company offering messaging services via Whatsapp, voice and SMS with bill and utility payment platform is seeking a QA/Software Tester. The ideal candidate will ensure software quality through manual and automated testing to detect bugs, analyze results, refine test strategies, report defects clearly and drive improvements, while maintaining close collaboration with devs and other stakeholders. The role guarantees stable, scalable, high-performing software that meets industry standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define test scope, approach, traceability, and automation feasibility. Establish a clear and effective test approach.
• Test Design & Data: Design, develop, and manage structured test cases, scenarios, checklists, and test suites for manual + automated testing. Prepare and manage test data for accurate validation.
• Test Execution: Conduct end-to-end, integration, regression, sanity, UAT, and performance testing manually and via automation. Execute test cases based on prioritized execution flow.
• Develop checklist-based scenarios to streamline test execution preparation.
• Prepare, log, and monitor requirement issues using the issue log.
• Testing products by following user stories and testing the complete application from the user interface UI to the back end. This includes testing the functionality of the application, as well as its performance and security.
• Automation Framework: Maintain automated test cases/scripts + frameworks. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality checks.
• Defect Management: Identify, validate, log, and track defects with clear descriptions, severity levels Identify issues, gaps and suggest potential improvements during testing activities
• Documentation & Reporting: Document test strategies, test cases, results, and daily/status/progress reports. Review specs for completeness, accuracy, and automation potential.
• Test Maintenance: Maintain and update automated test suites to ensure accuracy, coverage, and alignment with product changes.
• Collaboration: Work with dev teams to review requirements/design docs, advise on what/how to test, and identify high-risk/defect-prone areas.

Requirement/ Qualifications 

• B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, IT or related field 
• Minimum of 2 years active post-graduation experience in software testing, IT QA, business analysis, or product management
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum + SDLC 
• Testing Selenium with Java is mandatory Proficiency in at least one automation framework: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc
• Ability to convert manual tests to automated scripts and troubleshoot errors with strong attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, and adaptability
• Excellent written + verbal communication in English
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive organizational change

Salary: ₦250,000 Net
