Responsibilities or duties
Reporting to the Coordinator – Projects, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of improvement initiatives across large-scale surface mining operations to improve productivity and project outcomes.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure adherence to safe work practices and timely reporting and investigation of incidents.
- Collaborate with respective production teams to deliver initiatives and integrate solutions into the project execution.
- Optimize processes, systems across the operation, aiming to reduce mining costs and improve project economics.
- Conduct in-depth data analyses to identify patterns and opportunities for improvement within the mining operations.
- Reconcile assumptions used in design and scheduling work against recent actual performance, implementing options to improve performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all required reports.
- Assist in preparing business plans and budgets for required study work.
- Development and Implementation of long-term infrastructure design and execution details.
Qualifications or requirements
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.
- Minimum of a Degree in Mining Engineering or related Engineering qualification.
Experience needed
- A minimum of four (4) years mining engineering experience. Experience in open pit operations will be added advantage.
- Proven experience with mine designing software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant engineering software.
- Must be a member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).Zambia business directory
- Possession of a valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
