Working in close partnership with government, academic institutions and development partners, Eyu-Ethiopia designs and implements scalable solutions that strengthen health systems and improve equitable access to care. 

Position Summary

Eyu-Ethiopia is seeking a qualified, motivated, and detail-oriented Project Accountant to manage the financial operations of donor-funded projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, supporting budget management, ensuring compliance with donor and organizational financial policies, and contributing to the efficient implementation of project activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Prepare payment vouchers, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly financial reports.
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure they are in line with approved budgets.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports for management and donors.
  • Process payments to staff, consultants, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations, organizational financial policies, and Ethiopian laws.
  • Support budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Maintain proper filing of financial documents and supporting records.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by preparing the required documentation.
  • Ensure timely settlement of advances and proper documentation of project expenditures.
  • Coordinate with program staff to ensure financial activities support project implementation.
  • Perform other finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager or Executive Director.
