Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
- Operate paper bag manufacturing machines efficiently and safely.
- Set up machines according to production specifications and job requirements.
- Monitor machine performance during operation to ensure consistent output and quality.
- Adjust machine settings to maintain production standards and minimize waste.
- Ensure proper feeding of raw materials into the machines.
Technical & Maintenance Duties
- Perform routine mechanical and electrical inspections of machinery.
- Identify and troubleshoot machine faults, breakdowns, and operational issues.
- Carry out preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Replace defective mechanical or electrical components when necessary.
- Work closely with maintenance technicians and engineers during major repairs.
- Ensure machines are properly lubricated and maintained.
Quality Control
- Â Inspect finished paper bags to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
- Monitor production output and report defects or inconsistencies immediately
- Reduce material wastage and improve machine efficiency.
Health & Safety
- Adhere strictly to factory safety procedures and operational guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Report any unsafe conditions or hazards promptly.
Production Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of machine performance, production quantities, and downtime.
- Report technical issues and maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Assist in achieving daily and monthly production targets.
Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- Diploma, HND, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electromechanical Engineering
- Industrial Maintenance
- Technical/Manufacturing Engineering
Experience
- Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience operating paper bag machines or similar industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Experience in the paper manufacturing or packaging industry is an added advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, motors, bearings, gears, and machine components.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge including sensors, control panels, wiring, and switches.
- Ability to read technical manuals and machine diagrams.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with industrial production processes.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and capable of standing for long production hours.
Working Conditions
- Factory/manufacturing environment.
- Shift work may be required, including weekends and overtime.
- Exposure to industrial machinery and noise.
