We are looking for a reliable, compassionate and experienced Nurse Assistant/Caregiver to help care for an elderly lady who is recovering from a stroke.
Qualifications or requirements
Female, aged 28–40 years
Must also be able to understand and communicate in Chinyanja and Bemba
Trained or experienced in nursing assistance, caregiving or elderly care
Patient, trustworthy, attentive and respectful
Comfortable providing day-to-day personal care and companionship
Preferably Tonga-speaking
Experience needed
Experience caring for stroke patients will be a strong advantage
Responsibilities or duties
Assist with walking, mobility and prescribed recovery exercises
Support her rehabilitation and encourage safe movement
Administer medication correctly and on schedule
Regularly check and record blood pressure and blood sugar
Monitor her general condition and promptly report any concerning changes
Assist with bathing, dressing and other personal-care needs where required
Escort and accompany the patient to hospital/clinic reviews and medical appointments
Prepare healthy and suitable meals
Light cleaning and maintaining a clean, comfortable living environment
Provide companionship and general day-to-day support
Any other provided details
Please note: There is already someone responsible for the main household chores and general cleaning. The caregiver’s primary responsibility will be the patient’s care, recovery, medication, monitoring and wellbeing, with only light cleaning related to maintaining her immediate living environment.
