Mechanic and Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
• Perform general workshop maintenance, including welding and fabrication work.
• Maintain workshop stock levels and manage spare parts inventory.
• Source and collect vehicle and machinery parts when required.
• Carry out minor maintenance and repairs on packhouse equipment.
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of irrigation systems and water pumps.
• Provide basic electrical fault-finding and repair assistance.
• Ensure all maintenance is completed safely and within agreed deadlines.
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
• Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanic or Maintenance Technician.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing trucks, tractors, farm machinery, and light vehicles.
• Previous agricultural or farming experience will be highly advantageous.
• Experience with welding and general fabrication.
• Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, pumps, and electrical maintenance.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
