Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four Junior Data Scientists
Drive the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions
Build predictive, prescriptive, and forecasting models to support key business initiatives
Apply statistical techniques such as regression, clustering, classification, and time-series analysis
Translate complex technical outputs into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders
Partner with business units to identify and unlock data-driven opportunities
Collaborate with Data Engineering and Technology teams to ensure scalable model deployment
Establish and enforce best practices across data science and model governance
Monitor model performance and continuously enhance analytical solutions
Champion the adoption of AI and advanced analytics across the organisation
Requirements:
Education:
Honours degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or a related field
Master’s degree advantageous
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Advanced Analytics
Proven experience leading or mentoring Data Science teams
Experience working with large datasets and cloud-based environments
Strong track record of delivering impactful, business-driven analytics solutions
Exposure to engaging with senior stakeholders and executive teams
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Familiarity with MLOps and model deployment practices is beneficial
Experience with visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Core Competencies:
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
