Key Responsibilities
- Conduct chemical, physical, and mechanical testing on oil, gas, and petroleum-related samples.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as spectrometers, chromatographs, viscometers, and hardness testers.
- Record, analyze, and interpret laboratory data accurately, maintaining detailed logs and reports.
- Assist in sample preparation, labeling, and storage following proper safety and quality protocols.
- Perform calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory instruments.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, ASTM, API, and other industry testing standards.
- Identify deviations, report anomalies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support the laboratory team in audits, inspections, and quality control procedures.
- Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment adhering to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Technology, or related field.
- 1–3 years of laboratory experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical sector is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing methods, instrumentation, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with standards such as ASTM, API, ISO, or equivalent.
- Good data recording, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office and laboratory software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
