Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct chemical, physical, and mechanical testing on oil, gas, and petroleum-related samples.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as spectrometers, chromatographs, viscometers, and hardness testers.
  • Record, analyze, and interpret laboratory data accurately, maintaining detailed logs and reports.
  • Assist in sample preparation, labeling, and storage following proper safety and quality protocols.
  • Perform calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory instruments.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, ASTM, API, and other industry testing standards.
  • Identify deviations, report anomalies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the laboratory team in audits, inspections, and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment adhering to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Technology, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of laboratory experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical sector is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory testing methods, instrumentation, and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with standards such as ASTM, API, ISO, or equivalent.
  • Good data recording, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and laboratory software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.


Salary: GHS8,400 - GHS9,600
