About the Junior Planner Role As a Junior Planner, you will be instrumental in establishing, maintaining, and improving the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling business flow.
Your proactive planning and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment will help anticipate and eliminate potential delays, ensuring smooth operations. Key Responsibilities for Junior Planner Jobs in Zambia Manage site SAP service orders (SO), processes, and related data with accuracy and compliance.
Open service orders using approved documentation and capture estimated or actual planned costs before work commencement. Provide regular age analysis and SAP financial status reports to support operational oversight.
Ensure proper documentation by attaching relevant files in sequence and maintaining server files for asset accountability. Monitor resource allocation by comparing planned versus actual usage; report quality deviations daily to senior supervisors.
Capture approved intervention reports daily and conduct weekly meetings with supervisors to maintain documentation compliance above 95%. Create purchase requisitions promptly, promoting supplier competition and same-day service for requests.
Manage light vehicle service inspections and bookings, including secure filing of hard copy documents under lock and key with controlled access. Participate in SAP process development, approval, training, implementation, and review to enhance system efficiency.
Oversee container management on-site, ensuring compliance with Zambian law by timely transferring official documents to the Kitwe finance department. Run long-term maintenance forecasts and identify work to be planned and executed within set timeframes.
Support workforce upskilling and technical knowledge development; assist with draft budget preparation and monitoring. Drive continuous improvement by implementing new tools and updating processes to increase planning accuracy and productivity.
Qualifications and Experience Technical craft certificate is required. Minimum of a technical diploma or equivalent qualification.
Proficiency with EQP Care, SmartFleet, and SAP systems. At least three years of experience in the mining industry.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Solid understanding of maintenance philosophy and practices.
