Inventory Controller

Job Purpose
The Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring effective control of all duty-free merchandise held in the bonded warehouse and retail outlets. The role ensures compliance with customs and bonded warehouse regulations, maintains inventory integrity, supports financial reporting, and minimizes inventory losses through effective stock control and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory records for all bonded and duty-free merchandise.
Monitor inventory movements, including receipts, transfers, sales, returns, and adjustments.
Ensure all inventory transactions are recorded accurately and promptly in the ERP or inventory management system.
Monitor stock levels and recommend replenishment to prevent stock shortages or overstocking.
Analyze inventory trends and prepare stock reports for management.
Bonded Warehouse Control
Oversee inventory held in the bonded warehouse in compliance with customs regulations.
Ensure proper receiving, storage, transfer, and issuance of bonded goods.
Maintain complete and accurate bonded warehouse documentation.
Coordinate customs inspections and ensure timely submission of required customs documentation.
Ensure compliance with all applicable customs laws, bonded warehouse procedures, and company policies.
Inventory Reconciliation
Conduct regular cycle counts and periodic physical stock counts.
Reconcile physical inventory with system records and investigate discrepancies.
Prepare inventory variance reports and recommend corrective actions.
Support month-end and year-end inventory closing activities.
Reporting and Compliance
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for the Finance Manager.
Monitor inventory accuracy and report key inventory performance indicators.
Support internal and external audits by providing inventory records and supporting documentation.
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and inventory policies.
Coordination
Work closely with Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, Retail Operations, and Finance to ensure efficient inventory management.
Coordinate the movement of inventory between the bonded warehouse and duty-free shop.
Assist in implementing inventory control improvements and process enhancements.

Other Responsibilities
Ensure the security and proper handling of inventory.
Identify and report obsolete, slow-moving, damaged, or expired inventory.
Perform other duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
