The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the hospital premises, including patient rooms, common areas, offices, and clinical spaces. This essential role contributes directly to infection prevention and provides a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operational Duties:
    • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing all designated areas.
    • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating theaters, laboratories, restrooms, and public areas according to established hospital protocols.
    • Empty waste bins and dispose of waste safely and according to waste segregation guidelines (general vs. medical waste).
    • Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels.
    • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed to the supervisor.
    • Adhere strictly to infection control procedures, including proper use of cleaning agents and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition.
    • Follow daily work schedules and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.
  • Other Duties as Required:
    • Assist with setting up rooms for events or special needs as directed.
    • Participate in training on new cleaning techniques or safety protocols.
