Grade 1 Assistant Teacher (1 Part-Time Position)
This role supports the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing the learning environment, particularly for younger pupils .
- Support Learning Activities: Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of the teaching staff .
- Assist with Lesson Preparation: Help prepare and clear up the learning environment, including photocopying, filing, and displaying pupils' work .
- Behaviour Management: Support the teacher in managing behaviour and keeping pupils on task .
- Pastoral Support: Assist pupils with social and emotional well-being, supporting their independence and inclusion, and reporting any concerns to the teacher .
- Record Basic Data: Contribute to evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure learning needs are being met .
- General Support: Assist with break-time supervision, escorting pupils on educational visits, and helping with eating, dressing, and hygiene as required .
Essential Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in the relevant subject
- Relevant teaching qualification
- ZAQA evaluation
- Valid TCZ Practising Licence
Experience
- Minimum five years’ teaching experience.
- Knowledge of Cambridge curriculum preferred.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
