Key Responsibilities:
Business Recruitment & Partnership Development
- Identify, research, and recruit Ghanaian businesses and professionals for participation in USVI–Africa bilateral programs, trade delegations, and investment opportunities.
- Conduct outreach to prospective partners in construction, energy, technology, healthcare, education, and finance sectors.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified business contacts and track engagement status.
- Coordinate introductory meetings and follow-up communications between Ghanaian stakeholders and U.S.-based leadership.
Event Planning & Logistics (Accra-Based)
- Plan, coordinate, and execute in-person events, networking receptions, delegation visits, and stakeholder briefings in Accra.
- Secure venues, manage vendor relationships, coordinate catering, AV, and event materials.
- Support advance logistics for visiting delegations from the USVI and the United States, including hotel, transport, and meeting arrangements.
- Provide on-site event management and serve as the primary local point of contact during events.
Government & Institutional Liaison
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant Ghanaian government ministries, agencies, and regulatory bodies (e.g., Ministry of Trade & Industry, GIPC, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service).
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for government meetings and official engagements.
- Track regulatory requirements, permits, and institutional processes relevant to cross- border programs.
- Support preparation of briefing materials, talking points, and meeting agendas for government engagements.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Serve as a professional and responsive point of contact for existing and prospective Ghanaian partners and clients.
- Manage ongoing communications to ensure timely follow-up, responsiveness, and relationship continuity.
- Prepare client-facing correspondence, summaries, and status updates.
- Represent the organization with professionalism and discretion in all external interactions.
Task Management & Follow-Through
- Maintain and manage task lists, action items, and project timelines across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Track deliverables, deadlines, and outstanding items; proactively flag risks or delays.
- Prepare status reports and provide regular updates to U.S.-based leadership.
- Ensure consistent documentation of activities, decisions, and next steps.
Calendar, Email & Communications Support
- Manage scheduling across U.S. and Ghana time zones, coordinating calendars for meetings, calls, and events.
- Draft, send, and manage professional email correspondence on behalf of the organization.
- Handle inbound and outbound phone calls, take messages, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Maintain organized records of communications and key contacts.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in business development, event coordination, government relations, or executive/administrative support.
- Based in Accra, Ghana with the ability to attend in-person meetings and events throughout the Greater Accra Region.
- Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in Twi or another Ghanaian language is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with experience engaging government officials and corporate stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams).
- Reliable internet access, personal laptop/computer, and a professional home office setup.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with international organizations, diaspora-led initiatives, or cross- border economic development programs.
- Familiarity with Ghanaian government procurement, regulatory, or institutional processes.
- Prior experience supporting U.S.-based organizations or working across U.S./West African time zones.
- Background in construction, real estate development, healthcare staffing, or education sector partnerships.
- Existing professional network within Ghanaian government ministries, trade agencies, or private-sector leadership.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Trello) and CRM platforms.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Remote position based in Accra, Ghana with regular in-person duties (meetings, events, site visits).
- Must be available for regular calls and coordination during overlapping U.S. Eastern Time / Atlantic Standard Time and Ghana Mean Time business hours.
- Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required around events and delegation visits.
