Our client in the manufacturing industry is urgently looking for a mechanical fitter to assist  in the plant. If you have the below requirements , kindly share your cv to za••••••@••••••.za Minimum requirements and Qualifications
  • Matric 
  • Mechanical fitter qualification
  • 5 years or more experience in Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing industry
Duties

Equipment Installation and Commissioning

  • Install new production and packaging machinery.
  • Assemble mechanical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Assist with equipment commissioning, testing, and validation activities.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on production equipment.
  • Inspect machinery for wear, alignment issues, leaks, and mechanical defects.
  • Replace worn parts such as bearings, seals, belts, gears, and pumps.

Breakdown Maintenance

  • Diagnose mechanical faults and equipment failures.
  • Carry out repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Work closely with electrical technicians and engineers during troubleshooting.

Equipment Overhaul and Repairs

  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery.
  • Recondition pumps, valves, gearboxes, mixers, conveyors, and compressors.
  • Conduct precision alignment and fitting of mechanical components.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Complete maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports.
  • Follow pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with quality and validation procedures.

Health, Safety, and Hygiene

  • Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards required in pharmaceutical environments.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in a way that prevents product contamination.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis of recurring failures.
  • Suggest modifications to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.

  • Mixing vessels and reactors
  • Pumps and piping systems
  • HVAC systems
  • Compressors and vacuum systems
  • Packaging machines
  • Conveyors
  • Water treatment and purification systems
  • Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Sterilize-in-Place (SIP) systems

Skills Required

  • Mechanical fitting and machining skills
  • Reading engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of pumps, valves, bearings, and hydraulics/pneumatics
  • Fault-finding and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of GMP and pharmaceutical regulations
