THP-E is implementing projects in rural areas of Ethiopia since 2004 and currently seeking qualified candidates for an internship position:
Position Summary
THP-E Responsibilities
For the duration of this internship assignment the intern will receive:
- Working Station
- All required office supplies
- Transport Allowance
- Per Diem and lodging coverage during field visit
- Coverage of Transportation expenses during field visit
The Intern responsibilities
The intern will be responsible for covering all personal expenses incurred during the internship, including:
- Transport to and from the office;
- Medical expenses and any required insurance coverage
Learning Objectives
By the end of the internship, the intern will have developed the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Gained practical experience in financial operations, accounting processes, and day-to-day financial management activities.
- Developed competencies in financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
- Acquired a strong understanding of organizational finance policies, procedures, internal controls, and governance practices.
- Enhanced proficiency in the use of accounting software, financial management systems, and related financial analysis tools.
Deliverables
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Documentation and Filing
- Organize, maintain, and update financial records, including invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other supporting documentation.
- Ensure accurate and systematic filing of finance documents in both physical and electronic record-keeping systems.
- Support the timely retrieval and provision of financial documentation for audits, reviews, and compliance assessments.
- Data Entry and Record Keeping
- Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting systems, spreadsheets, and other financial management tools.
- Maintain and update financial databases and records in a timely manner, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Review and verify supporting documentation before data entry to ensure compliance with organizational policies and financial procedures.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable Support
- Assist in the preparation of payment requests and the processing of payments in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Support the monitoring and tracking of outstanding advances, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
- Follow up on missing supporting documentation, approvals, and other required records to facilitate accurate and compliant financial processing.
- Audit and Compliance Support
- Assist in the preparation and organization of financial documentation required for internal and external audits.
- Ensure that financial records and transactions are maintained in compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of internal financial controls and compliance requirements to strengthen accountability and risk management.
- Administrative Support
- Photocopy, scan, digitize, and archive financial documents to ensure proper record management and accessibility.
- Maintain accurate and organized physical and electronic archives of finance-related documents in accordance with document retention policies.
- Support efficient document management by ensuring timely filing, storage, and retrieval of financial records.
