Estimator – Buildings

An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled Estimator to join our client’s head office team. This role is ideal for a construction professional who has developed substantial estimating expertise on major building developments

Requirements:

•       BSc / BSc Hons in Quantity Surveying, Construction Studies or equivalent

•       5–8 years of estimating experience within the building construction sector

•       Demonstrated involvement in projects valued at R200 million and above

•       Experience working specifically in an estimating function rather than a Quantity Surveying role

•       Strong commercial awareness and cost-planning capabilities

•       Excellent organisational and time-management skills

•       Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines

•       Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Responsibilities:

•       Review tender documentation and assess project requirements

•       Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale building projects

•       Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing exercises

•       Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors

•       Participate in tender adjudication and bid reviews

•       Monitor market trends and pricing movements

•       Prepare reports and recommendations for management

•       Support the successful delivery of tender submissions
