Early Years Lead Teacher (2 Full-Time Positions)
This is a leadership role that combines classroom teaching with responsibility for overseeing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision.
Responsibilities or duties
- Lead and Develop EYFS Provision: Oversee the EYFS phase across the school, ensuring a consistent and high-quality approach in Nursery and Reception classes .
- Classroom Teaching: Lead by example with a teaching commitment, modelling best practice for other Early Years staff .
- Support and Mentor Staff: Provide guidance and support to colleagues on planning, assessment, and delivery of the EYFS curriculum .
- Monitor Pupil Progress: Track and assess children's development, ensuring strong outcomes and using observations to inform planning and next steps .
- Curriculum Knowledge: Maintain a solid and secure knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and assessment frameworks .
- Team Leadership: Foster positive relationships with staff, pupils, parents, and governors, and lead the Early Years team effectively .
- High Expectations: Maintain high expectations for children's achievement, behaviour, and personal development .
Qualifications or requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in the relevant subject
- Relevant teaching qualification
- ZAQA evaluation
- Valid TCZ Practising Licence
Experience needed
- Minimum five years’ teaching experience.
- Knowledge of Cambridge curriculum preferred.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
