Role Description:
The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kumasi, responsible for driving growth across Abiwegya Farms’ agribusiness operations and value chains. This role includes identifying new market opportunities, managing strategic partnerships, and expanding local and export sales for crop, livestock, aquaculture, and agro-processed products. The Manager will conduct market research, develop business plans, and lead commercial initiatives that enhance revenues and strengthen the company’s competitive position.
Day-to-day activities involve engaging with clients and distributors, preparing proposals, overseeing contract negotiations, and coordinating with operations, finance, and production teams to ensure alignment between business strategy and farm activities. The role also includes tracking performance metrics, reporting on business development outcomes, and supporting community and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Business development and sales skills, including market analysis, opportunity identification, and relationship management.
- Experience with agribusiness or agricultural value chains, such as crop, livestock, aquaculture, or agro-processing operations.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for working with clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Strategic planning and project management capabilities to design and execute growth initiatives.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and use of basic business tools (e.g., spreadsheets, CRM or sales tracking systems).
- Knowledge of export markets, supply chain management, and regulatory requirements is beneficial.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability, community development, and ethical business practices.
