Develop and execute a business
development strategy to grow direct logistics and last-mile delivery revenue.
Identify, pitch, negotiate, and
close contracts with SMEs, corporates, e-commerce merchants, online retail
platforms, and marketplace operators.
Build subcontracting and
partnership relationships with major logistics and courier companies
Design and sell logistics
solutions for customers requiring same-day delivery, scheduled delivery, bulk
dispatch, ecommerce fulfilment support, and last-mile distribution.
Build pricing models, service
proposals, SLAs, and commercial terms for different customer segments.
Manage the full sales cycle
from prospecting to contract negotiation, onboarding, account management, and
revenue expansion.
Work closely with operations to
ensure that promised service levels are achievable and consistently delivered.
Track market trends, competitor
activity, customer needs, and growth opportunities in the logistics and
e-commerce delivery space.
Build and manage a business
development team as the company grows.
Report regularly on pipeline,
revenue targets, conversion rates, customer acquisition cost, and account
performance.
Requirements:
Experience in the Nigerian
logistics, courier, e-commerce, or mobility sector is a must.
A minimum of 5 years’
experience in business development, sales,
partnerships, or commercial roles, preferably in logistics, courier, ecommerce
fulfilment, transport, or last-mile delivery.
Strong track record selling
logistics or delivery services to SMEs and corporate clients.
Proven experience selling to
ecommerce businesses, online merchants, marketplaces, retailers, or fulfilment
platforms.
Experience securing
subcontracting, overflow delivery, or partnership arrangements with major
logistics companies.
Existing relationships with
logistics companies, ecommerce platforms, corporate procurement teams, SMEs,
and business decision-makers will be a major advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of
last-mile delivery operations, pricing, SLAs, route economics, delivery
performance metrics, and customer expectations.
Excellent sales, negotiation,
and relationship management skills.
Ability to sell both standard
delivery services and customised logistics solutions.
Strong networker with
confidence approaching senior decision-makers.
Good understanding of
operational realities in last-mile logistics.
Self-starter with strong
ownership, resilience, and execution discipline.
Strong written and verbal
communication skills.
