Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and reliable Breakfast Chef for a busy hotel restaurant based in Cape Town's city centre. This role is ideal for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality breakfast service. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the breakfast section, ensuring consistency, quality and efficient service each morning. Package Salary: R16,000 per month Live-out position Shift: 05h30 – 14h30 Requirements Previous experience as a Breakfast Chef, Chef de Partie or similar role Strong breakfast and hot kitchen experience Ability to work independently and manage a breakfast service Excellent organisational and time-management skills Strong attention to detail and presentation Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards Culinary qualification advantageous Own reliable transport essential due to early starting hours Key Responsibilities Prepare and present breakfast dishes to a high standard Manage the breakfast service and ensure smooth kitchen operations Maintain consistency, quality and portion control Assist with stock control, ordering and minimising waste Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met Support the broader kitchen team when required Maintain a clean, organised and efficient workstation Assist with menu development and daily specials where appropriate Skills & Attributes Passionate about food and hospitality Reliable and punctual Calm and efficient under pressure Strong work ethic and attention to detail Positive team player with a proactive attitude Able to work independently and take ownership of the breakfast kitchen This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established hotel restaurant and become an integral part of a professional kitchen team in the heart of Cape Town.
