Employment Information

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute buy and sell orders for equities, government securities, corporate bonds, and commodities on behalf of institutional, ensuring best execution practices.
  • Strictly adhere to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Ghana regulations, GSE trading rules, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) protocols.
  • Provide real-time market intelligence, price quotations, and trade confirmations to clients. Maintain high fiduciary standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key market players (regulators, brokerage firms, portfolio managers, and prospective investors) to support effective collaboration.
  • Identify and engage prospective clients to expand the existing client base.
  • Monitor macroeconomic and other environmental trends that may affect the value of investment portfolios.
  • Monitor intra-day exposure, margin requirements, and settlement risks. Ensure all trades are settled within stipulated timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate and adequate documentation on order logs, and client transaction records for regulatory audits.
  • Analyse market trends, company announcements, and macroeconomic data to advise clients and internal teams.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by management as needed.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or related field. An MBA or professional certification (CFA Level I/II) is an added advantage.
  • Successful completion of the GISI, GSE certification courses, or any other courses specified by the Securities and Exchange Commission and Ghana Stock Exchange.
  • Must be a Registered Securities Dealer with the Ghana Stock Exchange.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience on a trading floor or dealing desk at a licensed brokerage, investment bank, or asset management firm in Ghana.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory framework and understanding of macroeconomic theory, monetary and fiscal policy and their respective impact on markets.
  • Proficiency in GSE trading platforms (e.g., Central Securities Depository - CSD).
  • Solid quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills are required.
  • High integrity, ability to work under pressure, excellent numerical accuracy, and strong client relationship skills.
