Job Details

To ensure adherence to all applicable anti-money laundering / countering of terrorism financing and proliferation financing (AML/CTF/PF) laws and best practices.

Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of compliance programs, policies and procedures as well as providing guidance and support to various business units and to help manage compliance (AML/CTF/PF, legal and regulatory) risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain the organisation's AML/CTF/PF compliance framework.
  • Conduct customer due diligence, compliance monitoring and enterprise-wide risk assessments.
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections and ensure effective implementation of AML controls.
  • Ensure compliance with NBFIRA, Insurance Act and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop compliance policies, monitoring plans and operational procedures.
  • Liaise with regulators and advise management on emerging regulatory obligations.
  • Develop operational risk frameworks and risk mitigation plans.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's (Honours) degree in law, auditing, risk management, compliance management, economics/finance, business administration, insurance, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in an AML/CTF/PF compliance, legal, financial services, risk management, or governance environment.
  • Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS) or International Compliance Association (ICA) certification or Bachelor of Laws or equivalent AML/CTF/PF -related qualification
  • Knowledge and understanding of AML/CTF/PF laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • Knowledge of financial services including insurance.
  • Knowledge of law, compliance, risk management and governance.
  • Excellent analytical and investigative skills (statistical interpretations and excel, etc.).
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of the Non-Bank Financial Institute Authority (NBFIRA) and other insurance related regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of short term insurance products.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
