ABOUT FINCRED FINANCE

ROLE SUMMARY

The Accountant will play a central role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of Fincred Finance. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial insights to support organisational decision-making. This is a high-impact position suited to a detail-oriented and commercially aware accounting professional.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accountant will be expected to:

•      Prepare, review, and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports to the CEO

•      Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing

•      Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections, providing timely variance analysis and actionable recommendations

•      Ensure full compliance with applicable tax regulations, statutory requirements, and accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP)

•      Oversee and coordinate internal and external audit processes, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors

•      Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets

•      Manage tax submissions, including VAT, PAYE, corporate income tax, and other statutory filings

•      Analyse financial data and provide strategic insights to the CEO to support business growth and operational efficiency

•      Liaise with banks, financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders as required

•      Supervise and mentor junior finance staff, fostering a high-performance team culture

•      Support the CEO in financial planning, investment appraisals, and strategic initiatives

KEY EXPECTATIONS

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following:

•      Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial reports directly to the CEO on a regular basis

•      Uphold the highest standards of professional ethics, confidentiality, and financial integrity

•      Proactively identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies to safeguard the organisation

•      Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and internal controls

•      Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and ensure organisational compliance at all times

•      Communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders

•      Demonstrate initiative and sound judgement in managing competing priorities within a fast-paced environment

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Essential Requirements:

•      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

•      Professional accounting qualification: ZICA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent

•      Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a financial services environment

•      Proven proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Pastel, or similar ERP systems)

•      Strong working knowledge of IFRS, tax legislation, and financial regulatory compliance

•      Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications

Desirable Attributes:

•      Experience in a financial services, lending, or credit environment

•      Demonstrated ability to work directly with executive leadership and present financial information at board level

•      Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

•      Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
