Job Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and the general ledger.
  • Record and reconcile all financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor and control project costs against approved budgets.
  • Track construction project expenses, materials, labour, and subcontractor costs.
  • Prepare project cost reports and profitability analyses.
  • Process supplier invoices, subcontractor payments, and client receipts.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare and process payroll, including statutory deductions.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations regularly.
  • Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws and statutory requirements.
  • Support the preparation of project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
  • Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate funding for construction activities.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist in preparing tender and contract financial information when required.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of all financial records.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend improvements to internal controls.
  • Provide financial reports and analysis to management for decision-making.
  • Provide administrative support by maintaining accurate records, managing office documentation, and coordinating other administrative activities
  • Perform any other duty assigned by management.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Understanding of construction accounting, project costing, and contract accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
