Since HI was founded in 1982, we have supported tens of millions of people in over 60 countries. Our teams work tirelessly to support those most in need in humanitarian emergencies, chronic crises, and long-term development.

HI is the world's most comprehensive mine action charity. The heart of this action is victim assistance—this was our beginning in 1982—but teams also prevent injuries through weapons and landmine clearance, risk education activities, stockpile management, and advocacy to ban landmines and cluster bombs.
HI works in Ethiopia to improve access for vulnerable people, including people with disabilities and refugees, to humanitarian services. The organization also aims to improve people with disabilities’ inclusion in society; making sure that the children with disabilities can go to school and that adults with disabilities can work and participate in community life.
